To edit a layer, double-click on the name of the layer in the right toolbar or double-click on a shape that is part of the layer you want to edit. To add a layer to your diagram, select the layers icon from the right toolbar, and then select “+ Layer.” Lucidchart layers allow you to overlay multiple elements of a diagram and control which ones are seen at any given time. In previous blogs we’ve explained the importance of keeping your content visual, and we still mean it! Why not take it one step further and make your content interactive as well? With two simple Lucidchart features-hotspots and layers-visual and interactive content is just a few clicks away. Studies show that interactivity increases engagement, which increases the retention of information by learners. Why? Because they were interactive, and everyone wanted their turn pushing buttons and pulling levers. But then there were one or two exhibits the entire class clamored to see. You and your friends probably walked past 75% of the exhibits-the ones that were mostly static pictures with some explanatory text. Think back on your third-grade field trip to the science museum. ![]()
